Wor Little Jude

Wor Little Jude

We have both know Jude since the early 1970’s
We have enjoyed her friendship for around 50 years
Jude upcycled long before it was fashionable with a donation of two swivel chairs
Without this kindness we had nowhere to sit in our first home!
She was a home maker be it Upper Crone Street, Seaton Crescent or ‘doon sooth’
We were honoured to be asked to be godparents to Angela
She taught me to knit when I was expecting
She taught me how to do a kite nappy in those pre disposable times
We were at that hilarious party when the curtains and lampshade were worn
We’ve watched her perform at St Peters, Tynemouth and Whitley Bay

We’ve enjoyed many a Rockcliff do, and even at Northern too
And of course Judes home made chocolate cake at Nories coffee corner
We have shared family events even an outing to Allendale
We’ve been welcomed as houseguests at Capel, Henley and Westerfield
(Even putting the house up for sale while we were there – perhaps we stayed too long!!)
We’ve danced on tables together in Italy and enjoyed the food and wine
We sang together in Canada on a houseboat, as part of that girl group - the Rufflegs
We’ve spent time in Ridsdale walking and socialising in Northumberland and at the Toon
We’ve watched both our families grow and followed their progress with interest
And loved sharing our grandchildren’s antics as they grow

We will miss Jude’s paintings on her Christmas cards each year
We will miss her radiant smile
We will miss her games and organising
We will miss that twinkle in her eye
We will miss sharing the gin and tonic
And the get togethers too
Of course our thoughts are with all the family and Judes other friends too
But most of all for Peter, Angela and Bobby
We will all have our memories that keeps Jude with us
But for now Rest in Peace our dear friend 🕯
